1. Introduction
These terms govern the use of Feide for secure login and data sharing.
Feide is a centralized identity management solution for the educational and research sector of Norway. Feide is managed in collaboration between Sikt (Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research) and Udir (the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training).
Your access to Feide as a login service is linked to your affiliation with a Home Organisation (see definition under section 2). Feide functions as an intermediary (“proxy”) and transmitter of personal data between your Home Organisation and the services you log in to.
Feide does not control, and is not responsible for, how these Service Providers further process your personal data. Each service’s use of the data is agreed directly between your Home Organisation and the Service Provider.
By using Feide, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the terms of use.
2. Definitions
- Home Organisation: An educational institution that uses Feide as a login solution for its systems and services. Universities, colleges, municipalities, county authorities, private school owners, and research institutes can become Home Organisations.
- Service Provider: A provider of applications, services or systems within the knowledge sector that students, teachers, lecturers and others affiliated with the controller can log in to via Feide.
3. Scope
The terms of use must be read in conjunction with Feide’s privacy policy, and any terms of use established by the Service Provider, and, where applicable, the Home Organisations.
4. User responsibilities
As a user of Feide, you are responsible for:
- Not sharing your login details with others.
- Notifying your Home Organisation immediately if you suspect misuse of your account.
- Following the guidelines from your Home Organisation.
- Not attempting to bypass security measures or misuse the service.
5. Limitation of Feide’s liability
Feide is not liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, resulting from errors or defects in the service, unless the loss is caused intentionally by Feide.
Feide is not responsible for:
- Loss of data and content in third-party services.
- How your data is further processed by the Home Organisation or third parties.
- Any violations of laws or regulations committed by the Home Organisation or third parties.
Feide is not responsible for loss resulting from irresponsible use, for example where others have been given access to your login information, or you have not notified your Home Organisation in the event of misuse or suspicion of such misuse.
6. Breach of terms, changes and termination of the service
Sikt reserves the right to update these terms.
Users will be notified of material changes. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of the updated terms.
If the user breaches these terms, the user may be suspended or have their access to the Service terminated.
7. Additional information
